ABOUT

Rianne Cheuk-ying Lau is an active operatic soprano in The United States, Europe and Hong Kong and had appeared in many operas and concerts. Her previous operatic roles included Sandrina, the title role of La finta giardiniera, Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Bubikopf in Der Kaiser von Atlantis, Frasquita in Carmen and Miss Jessel in The Turn of The Screw. Ms Lau also performed in musical theatre productions as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family and Red Queen in Through The Looking Glass.

 

 

Ms Lau was awarded in many competitions like The Birmingham International Music Competition, Manhattan International Young Artists Music Festival, OSAKA International Music Competition and among others. During her master, she was the winner of the At Large Category of The Concerto-Aria Competition and performed as a soloist in the winners’ concert with the USC Symphony Orchestra in The Koger Center of The Arts. She was also the winner of The Vocal Arts Competition in both 2021 and 2022 and performed in both winners’ concert. Ms Lau also performed in many masterclasses led by world-famous singers and coaches including Ms Latonia Moore, Ms Dietlinde Maazel and Ms Dawn Upshaw.

 

Ms Lau obtained her Master of Music in Opera Performance in University of South Carolina and she is currently having her postgraduate study with scholarships in San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
